Kindness Rock Wall by Rolling Hills Elementary Students Come check it out - it's by the gym. :) In September 2018, Mrs. Thurber and Mrs. Taylor teamed up for a school-wide Kindness Rock Project. EVERY student at Rolling Hills painted a rock and added a powerful message - that's 570 students! The rocks were photographed, printed and put on our wall surrounding a quote about kindness. Come and see your wall with your child so they can point out their rock to you! :) |
Plastic Water Bottle Chandelier
by Rolling Hills Elementary Students Making the Chandelier Video The very colorful chandelier hanging in the main hallway at school was made by the students of Rolling Hills Elementary School (during the 2015-2016 school year) - that’s over 640 students! We were inspired by Dale Chihuly’s glass chandeliers to make a chandelier of our own. Plastic Water Bottles were collected from many parents in our community to up-cycle them into something beautiful. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders chose a warm color for their bottle, while 3rd, 4th and 5th graders chose a cool color. Each student colored a water bottle with colored Sharpie marker. 2nd - 5th graders then cut their water bottles into a spiral. 3rd and 5th graders helped to cut the bottles of kindergarteners and 1st graders. If you haven't seen it, come check it out! |
